Black and white has a special place in photography. Many prefer it to color, and claim its simplicity exposes bare emotions in a way that color, with its distracting variety, cannot.

Photographer Ted Grant once said, “When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls!” If you’re a B&W junky, than you just nodded your head in agreement. Take away the color and you expose the soul of a shot, whether it is of person or not.
