If you trace our ancestors back far enough, we are all Africans. It is the great incubator for the human race and it continues to be the place where nature seems to roar at its loudest. Enormous beasts roam its savannahs like modern dinosaurs, and its lush jungles steam in the sweltering heat, with every life-form imaginable hiding below the thick leaves. Consequently, its people are among the most resilient in the world. Having survived the horrors of imperialism at its very darkest, the Africans, themselves, an amalgam of thousands of diverse peoples, cultures, languages, and nations, have retained their joyful spirits. The continent is home to some of the world’s boldest and most colorful cultures, palpable in everything from music and clothing, to food and senses of humor.
This gallery is dedicated to Africa; its people and its wildlife, its cities and savannahs.
