In honor of Finland’s Independence Day, we would like to direct our attention to the land of a thousand lakes. Finland is a beautiful and old country, famous among tourists for its steam saunas, historic capital of Helsinki, and of course, its midnight sun. This country is so far North, the Finns live in total darkness for over a month, whereas in the summer, the sun stays above the horizon for an equally long period of time.
Being so far North also means that Finns have the best seat in the world to observe the Northern Lights, waves of green and purple light that shine through the sky.
In this gallery, you’ll find pictures of Finland by PicsArt users who have artfully captured transcendent peace of Finland’s amazing countryside and public parks.
