With this photo gallery we welcome you to Spain. Situated in Southern Europe on the Mediterranean across from Morocco, Spain was one of Europe’s most prestigious global empires, yet has always maintained an exotic streak. Spain is passionate, vibrant, alive, and a true cultural marvel.
To start at the very surface, Spain’s architecture surpasses its already magnificent natural beauty. The architecture of Spain is impossibly breathtaking. To this day, there is nothing in the world comparable to the work of architect Antoni Gaudí, whose buildings adorn the city of Barcelona, the most famous of which being the church called La Sagrada Familia. Barcelona, however, is most famous for its nightlife. It’s clubs, pubs, and dance bars are open until sunrise, and many of them located right on the port, overlooking the city beaches.
The capital, Madrid, is also home to architectural marvels like the The Palacio Real de Madrid (the Royal Palace), the Sabatini Gardens, Plaza Mayor of Madrid, and the Basilica of San Francisco el Grande to name only a few. Madrid has an endless capacity to amaze, but one would be remorseful to leave without visiting the Prado Museum, the biggest art gallery in the world and home to a collection of more than 7,600 paintings.
If Spain has a heart and soul, however, it is Flamenco music. Seville is the Flamenco capital though Spain has no shortage of this intensely passionate music, which can move any audience to tears.
From the medieval city of Cuenca with its cliffside “hanging houses”, to the coves of the Mediterranean Island of Ibiza, the cities, villages, landscapes, and people of Spain can win your heart wherever you travel. As a photographer, it is hard not to get greedy in a country like Spain, but no camera has enough memory to bottle the endless wonders of this marvelous place. In this photo gallery, though, we see a collection of images that attempts to paint a small portrait of this amazing country.
