After having discovered her passion for photography through PicsArt, last Friday, Lou Tissiez’s (@loutissiez) artistic journey reached a milestone when she exhibited her photos at a live event in Paris, her hometown. Even more thrillingly, some of us here at PicsArt were able to share this moment with Lou and attend in person. Needless to say, we were all quickly under the spell of Lou’s joy and enthusiasm.
Before PicsArt, she had dabbled in the arts here and there, taking dance classes at the Paris opera house as a kid, and shooting photos on vacations as an adult.
Once she discovered PicsArt however, she was inspired to approach photography differently. The images she saw on the app gave her ideas, the positive attitude of the community lifted her spirit, and she could not keep her fingers off of all of the fun tools and effects in the editor. Pretty soon, she fell in love with creating.
A big moment came when she won the Paper Effect Weekend Art Project with her photo of the Eiffel Tower, finishing first place among over 5,000 entries. Her confidence was bolstered, she started sharing her art with friends, and after showing her boss Patrick, he was impressed and proposed that they hold an exhibition using the office space at work.
That is how Friday’s event came to be, and for those of us that attended, we were so happy to see Lou’s family, friends, and colleagues dropping by to admire her fabulous art framed on the walls of a two floors exhibit.
Though her photos were all beautiful, from wide vistas of Paris to equally compelling shots that focus on smaller details, there were a few standouts at the show. There was Lou’s contest winning Eiffel Tower Shot, a mesmerizing portrait of an Algerian man she captured in Parisian Chinatown, and a brilliant double exposure of Lou’s youngest son, Maël, who is her favorite photography subject and an all too willing model.
Thanks again Lou for the amazing event! You can follow Lou right here on PicsArt to see how the next chapter in her artistic journey unfolds.
