A compilation of floating solid and liquid particles make up smoke. Essentially, all smoke is the same kind of matter, but it occurs in very, very different situations. Smoke comes forth from both natural and manmade triggers: fires, dusty wind, artificial smoke, colorful smoke. In all shapes and forms, smoke is a trailing symbol leaving something that was, whether it was beautiful or scary.
A look at smoke photography gives you a sense of how difficult it is to own moments. It makes clear the reality in which memories can slip through your fingers because nothing lasts forever. These shots, whether happy or mysterious, make you appreciate the beauty of that which does not last, as well as the style with which photographers have captured impermanent smoke.
