Lots of photographers are intimidated by the concept of composition when they’re starting out. After all, it’s one of the most important things to consider when shooting, but the concept is actually quite simple:
Composition = how you fill up your frame.
That doesn’t seem so scary, does it?
Today’s inspiration is an exercise in composition that gives you a chance to explore how space is used in an image. When you’re shooting today, pay attention to the empty space in your frame. Take a series of shots with varying amounts of empty space. How does your image change as you allow more empty space to occupy your frame?
Start exploring, and share your images with the hashtag #space.
