This tutorial will show you how to master the Curves tool by breaking down the process step-by-step. The Curves Tool is simply the most effective way to adjust the lighting and colors in your photo. It gives you unprecedented control over individual tones, and lets you edit them individually. You just have to select a point on your photo and the color tone of that point will appear as a point on a graph. You can then drag the point across the graph to intensify and lighten it’s tone. There are four graphs in total which each let you alter individual colors separately on a specific point, one for red tones, one for green tones, one for blue tones, and the last one which combines the previous three. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll soon realize that you can almost always get the coloring and lighting of your photos exactly right using only this one amazing tool!<\/p>\n

Step 1: Open a Photo<\/span><\/h2>\n

Open a photo from the main screen of the app. <\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2: Select the Curves Tool<\/span><\/h2>\n

Select the tools icon and from the pop-up menu, select Curves<\/p>\n

Step 3: Choose Tones to Edit<\/span><\/h2>\n

Select from either Red, Green, Blue, or RGB. Depending on which you choose, you will be able to alter the tones of that color in your photo. RGB allows you to edit all of the colors at once.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Edit Your Colors<\/span><\/h2>\n

The resulting curve graphs the tones of whatever colors you chose, and each point on the graph represent a specific tone. Select a point on your photo, and it will appear as a point on the curve. Drag the curve around by that point to intensifying or reduce that color tone in your photo.<\/p>\n

Step 5: Play Around<\/span><\/h2>\n

You can keep adding new curves and use the icon that has two turning arrows on it at the bottom left of your screen to revisit previous curves. You can play around with various options without losing your work, and switch between different curves until you decide which you prefer.<\/p>\n

Step 6: Finish and Confirm<\/span><\/h2>\n

Once you have chosen a curve that gets the color and lighting in your photo just the way you want it, click the checkmark at the bottom right corner of the screen to finish your session and confirm your edits.<\/p>\n
