Whether Pantone has a special psychic ability to predict the next hottest color, or the self-proclaimed “color authority” starts\u00a0the trend themselves (perhaps a bit of both?), there’s no denying their\u00a0Color of the Year’s\u00a0influence on just about everything. From fashion to interior design and all that falls\u00a0in between, Pantone Colors of the Year\u00a0determine what we see in every area of art and design \u2014\u00a0including photography.<\/p>\n

For the first time ever, we get two Pantone Colors of the Year: Rose<\/a> Quartz and Serenity. The two candy-colored shades are meant to be the\u00a0“antidote to modern day stresses,” representing mindfulness, well-being and gender blurring. We know, it’s a strangely\u00a0political and philosophical decision on Pantone’s end, but it\u00a0makes sense with the social trends. Plus, these powdery pastels\u00a0do\u00a0look damn good together (and surprisingly not tacky).
