But this bonafide veteran of American politics doesn\u2019t have a track record of backing down. Instead, she\u2019s frequently responded to the numerous comments with the sharpest wit, a great example of which is her campaign\u2019s cheeky <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.hillaryclinton.com\/products\/the-everyday-pantsuit-tee\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018The Everyday Pant Suit\u2019 t-shirt series<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The debate remains strong whether or not the claims that Hillary\u2019s gender makes her a more vulnerable target than other candidates to the press\u2019s quips, but one thing\u2019s clear: she can dish it like she can take it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. She&#8217;s especially well known for one of the stunts that started her career, where she went &#8216;undercover&#8217; as a Playboy Bunny at the New York Playboy Club. In the article, titled &#8220;A Bunny&#8217;s Tale,&#8221; Steinem exposed both the\u00a0exploitative working conditions in which the girls were working, as well as the sexual coercion to which they were prone,\u00a0which skirted the edge of the law. After the article was released, for a period of time,\u00a0Steinem recalls being unable to get hired anywhere else &#8220;because I had now become a Bunny \u2013 and it didn&#8217;t matter why.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. She was\u00a0the first woman to receive the Tony Award for Best Play in 1989. Despite this, her mother had somewhat more&#8230; traditional expectations for her daughter.\u00a0When a\u00a0family friend asked her mother how Wendy was doing, her mother responded by\u00a0hyperventilating and in desperation exclaimed, \u201cShe\u2019s not a lawyer.
