The internet had opinions within the hour, and “Instagzam” was circulating by the end of the day: the new r has a closed, angular shoulder that mirrors the g right before it, so millions of people read the word wrong on first look. Then the better wave started. Brands began setting their own names in the new letterforms and posting the result. No shoot, no budget, no brief.
