It is a new input type, and it hands the file to the rest of your workflow three different ways: as extracted text, as the page you have open, or as every page at once.

The latest version of Flow is live now, and it adds document input plus two tools for working with large canvases. Together they make it possible to build pipelines directly from PDFs, find any node instantly, and organize hundred-node graphs by meaning rather than position.

Here is what each one does.

The Document node

Until now a workflow started from a prompt or from media. It can now start from a document.

Add a PDF the same four ways you already add an image:

Drag and drop it onto the canvas.

Upload it from the file picker.

Paste it from the clipboard.

Choose Document from the canvas context menu.

Any of those creates a Document node holding the file.

Three output lanes

The Document node is the first node in Flow with three output lanes. Which lane you wire from decides what the rest of the workflow receives.

Text carries the full extracted text of the document, for text and LLM nodes.

Image carries the currently open page as an image, for image nodes.

All pages carries every page as a batch of images, for batch generation.

Each lane has its own color and shows its name on hover, so wiring stays clear.

Reading and replacing the document

The node is not only a file holder. Inside it you can:

Browse pages with the thumbnail strip and page navigation.

Open a full-screen reader with Pages and Text tabs.

Replace the PDF in place while keeping all downstream connections.

That last one matters on a canvas you have already built out. The file changes and the wiring does not.

What it costs and what it accepts

The Document node is a static input. It uses no credits and it does not run in the pipeline.

All processing happens in the browser. PDFs up to 50 MB and 100 pages are supported. Corrupted or damaged files show a clear error, and scanned PDFs without text show a hint.

Canvas search with Cmd/Ctrl+F

Finding a node on a large workflow no longer means panning and squinting. Press Cmd/Ctrl+F anywhere on the canvas to open the search bar.

Type to search node titles and sticky notes.

Results are ranked with exact matches first.

Use the arrows or Enter to move between matches, and navigation wraps around.

The selected match is centered and highlighted on the canvas.

Press Escape once to clear the query, and again to close the bar.

Sticky notes are full search results, not a secondary category, and they are highlighted the same way as nodes.

Search is read-only, so it is also available to collaborators with view-only access. On a 100-node workflow it finds and centers a node in under a second.

Node color tags with canvas filtering

Nodes can now be grouped by meaning, independent of where they sit on the canvas.

Tag a node from its floating menu, or tag an entire multi-selection at once from the selection toolbar:

Choose one of 9 colors.

A colored dot appears in the node’s title bar.

Tagging many nodes at once is a single action, and reverts with a single undo.

Filtering the canvas by tag

A new button in the left rail opens the tag legend:

It shows every color in use with a live count of tagged nodes.

Click a color to filter the canvas. Non-matching nodes fade out and matching nodes stay in focus.

Toggle multiple colors to combine them.

Connections and frames remain visible, so the graph keeps its shape.

Two things are worth knowing if you share a canvas. Tags are part of the workflow and sync to all collaborators in real time. The filter is a personal view setting, so turning it on never changes what your teammates see.

Every color has a name, “Sky blue” for example, for screen readers and tooltips. Frames keep their existing tint and cannot be tagged.

Where to find each update

Document node: drag a PDF onto the canvas, or open the canvas context menu and choose Document.

Canvas search: press Cmd/Ctrl+F with the canvas focused.

Color tags: open a node’s floating menu, or select several nodes and use the selection toolbar. The tag legend button is in the left rail.

Open Picsart Flow to try them. To test search and tags on a canvas that is already populated, the Flow templates library has multi-node workflows you can open and run.

More improvements are already on the way, and Flow keeps getting faster and more intuitive with each release.

Start a workflow from a document

The Document node changes what a workflow can begin with. Instead of a prompt or a piece of media, the first thing on your canvas can be the PDF itself.

Open Picsart Flow and drop one on.

Get answers to common questions

How do I add a PDF to a Picsart Flow workflow?

Drag and drop the PDF onto the canvas, upload it from the file picker, paste it from the clipboard, or choose Document from the canvas context menu. Any of those creates a Document node holding the file.
What can the Flow Document node connect to?
It has three output lanes. Text carries the full extracted text of the document, for text and LLM nodes. Image carries the currently open page as an image, for image nodes. All pages carries every page as a batch of images, for batch generation.
Does the Document node use credits?
No. The Document node is a static input, so it uses no credits and does not run in the pipeline. All processing happens in the browser.
What are the PDF size and page limits in Picsart Flow?
PDFs up to 50 MB and 100 pages are supported. Corrupted or damaged files show a clear error, and scanned PDFs without text show a hint.
Press Cmd/Ctrl+F anywhere on the canvas to open the search bar, then type to search node titles and sticky notes. Results are ranked with exact matches first, and the selected match is centered and highlighted on the canvas.
Tags do, because they are part of the workflow and sync to all collaborators in real time.
