Daguerre then sold his invention to the French government, which then released the technology as a free gift to the world on August 19th, 1839, making the art of photography more accessible to everyone. The first official World Photography Day was celebrated more than 150 years later, on <\/span>August 19, 1991.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
