To blur a face, a name or any one part of a photo, upload it to Picsart AI Playground<\/a>, pick an image editing model and describe what to blur. The AI finds the face or the text, blurs only that, and leaves the rest of the photo as it was. To blur the whole photo, describe the kind of blur you want.<\/p>\n

Below is how the process works and which model to use for what, then each blur job one by one.<\/p>\n

How to blur a photo with AI<\/span><\/h2>\n

Two models in AI Playground are built for this kind of targeted edit, and each use case below names the one that fits it best.<\/p>\n

Step 1. Open AI Playground in Image mode<\/h3>\n

Open AI Playground and choose Image in the bottom-left switcher.<\/p>\n

Step 2. Add your photo<\/h3>\n

Click the Image button at the top of the prompt box and add the photo you want to blur. It appears as a thumbnail above your prompt, which tells the model you are editing this image rather than generating a new one.<\/p>\n

Step 3. Pick the model<\/h3>\n

Open the model menu at the bottom of the prompt box and choose the model the use case below recommends: GPT Image 2.5, Ideogram 4.5 Precise Edit, or Seedream 5.0 Pro for effects.<\/p>\n

Step 4. Say what to blur, then what must not move<\/h3>\n

Type the prompt: the change, how strong it should be, and everything that has to stay as it is. The second half matters as much as the first, because a model is free to touch anything you did not mention.<\/p>\n

Step 5. Generate, check at full size, refine<\/h3>\n

Set how many images you want from the image count menu, generate, then zoom in on the result. A blur that looks solid on a phone preview can be thin at 100%. If it needs to go further, say so in a follow-up prompt.<\/p>\n

How to blur a face in a photo<\/span><\/h2>\n

Best model: GPT Image 2.5.<\/strong> It changes only the element you name and holds the rest of the frame, and naming beats pointing when there is more than one face.<\/p>\n

Faces are the reason most people blur anything: a child in a public post, a friend who asked not to be identifiable, a stranger who happens to be in shot. With a group, GPT Image 2.5 is the quicker pick, because "everyone except the bride" is one sentence.<\/p>\n
