These are the scars of wings that have been torn off of him. Our lovable Tae Tae is a fallen angel who wings were torn off before he "fell" from heaven. This is actually shown in the video Also after we see his scars in the video, he smiles at us because being evil now he feels no shame or regret. How does this relate to pride? Well let's look at the original fallen angel himself: the devil, Satan. As an angel he was known as Lucifer and was associated with the morning star. In ancient times Lucifer used his power to influence a babylonian king to become so prideful that the king challenged God. As punishment for attempting to test God, he casted Lucifer out of heaven. Pride was the downfall of the first fallen angel, so indirectly all fallen angels have fallen because of pride. Also we all love that awkward smile Tae gives us after we see his wings, but thinking of this in context: why would anyone smile? He is showing the audience his scares which show that he clearly had wings at one point and had them ripped or torn out which had to be a painful experience as is, but on top of the those scares represents his fall from heaven. Anyone would find it painful or feel shame when showing such disgraceful scars to others. Not Taehyung though, not only does he not show any regret or shame, but he actually smiles. This is because he has already fallen and is too corrupted to care. He is not ashamed to have been caste out of heaven, he is proud of it.
