On september 11, 2001 at 8:45 am in the morning (east coast time of the US) everyone in NY and the Twin Towers were living their normal day, heading to work or already at work.
and then the unimaginable happened, 19 hijackers in all commited s*cide and flew four planes into the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center.
the 265 passangers on the planes died immediatley and soon after the towers collapesed. these towers were the tallest in the NY skyline, one tower was 1,368 ft and the other 1,362 , and each had 110 stories, filled with ppl of all color, nation, and sexuality. They were living their normal lives and then this happned.
some were lucky enough to be on the lower floors and esacape in time, others went up to the higher floors to help, some weren’t even officals. they were not so lucky.
343 firefighters and 71 lawenforcment died as a result in trying to help.
this tragedy is considered one of the worst in American History. please take respect to this even if you aren’t from America.
today, idk if u can during covid tho, u can visit the memorial and Freedom Tower. The Freedom Tower was build after as a way to show that we stand all together in this tragedy that is still fresh in our eyes.
the memorial has the great bug foundation holes of the twin towers, with the thousands of names edged intp the sides.
