Most of the ride was quiet but after driving for five minutes Skylar’s mum said, “sweetheart I need to talk to you about something... and it’s serious so don’t laugh it off.” Skylar looked up from her phone. “What’s up mum?” Her mom looked at the road with a sullen look. “You know my friend, Christy? She’s the one I was just talking to. Well, her daughter went missing a month ago. They haven’t said if she is officially dead, but all the signs point to it. Christy and I have been friends for a long time so when she told me about it, I decided to come down here as soon as my work let me...” “Mum?” Skylar interrupted. “One second honey let me finish. She really needs someone there for her right now, especially with Jared out of town... anyways that’s beside the point. I will be gone most of the day tomorrow so please just stay in our hotel room. You can wander around the hotel if you’d like but not too far....” Bla Bla Bla that’s all Skylar heard. She felt that sometimes her mum could not stop talking. “Okay...sure thing... yes mum” she blankly replied. Once they pulled up to the hotel and went to check in, Skylar noticed at a distance there was a castle over a hill. “Eww mum is this a hotel for those Americans who come to see the castles?” Her mum said “What do you mean ‘eww’ all people are people. Also, it's what we can afford so please work with it.” Soon enough, Skylar and her mother were in their room and fast asleep.
