Very demure
@joolieannie
Trend description: Over the last week, the ‘demure’ trend, started by TikTok user @joolieannie, has had influencers and businesses alike acting ‘very mindfully’. The trend sees the creator acting in an elegant and subdued way while performing a task. See our demure trend blog here to learn more.
How you can use it: This is a golden opportunity to show off your business’ products or services, either by using the original audio or by creating your own. Display how you can be ‘very mindful’ while performing a business task, or how a product is ‘very cutesy’. For more ideas, head to our demure trend blog.
Who will you be tonight?
@seungminsbiggestfangirl she have summoned all the verified accounts @snappleapple3453
Trend description: This trend uses a song from the newly released Despicable Me 4. The audio asks ‘Who will you be tonight? That’s the question.’ Social media managers have adopted this audio, using it to expose themselves as the owners of company TikTok accounts. These are generally posted on personal accounts and feature 2 images posted as swipe posts. The first image shows the user and the second is a screenshot of the list of accounts they manage.
How you can use it: This is a useful tool in putting a face to your business. It humanizes your brand and allows your following to become familiar with the accounts you run.
You’re not fun!
@lemongal_ like youre supposed to dance and sing and scream and have funnn 👎🏼👎🏼 as long as youre not bothering anyone we keep it demure #fyp #swifttok #foryou #erastour #concerts
Trend description: Chappell Roan has taken over radio stations and playlists this summer with music that makes us want to get up and dance. A clip from a performance at a music festival has been making its rounds on TikTok, with users seeing the potential for the audio. The clip features Chappell teaching her famous HOT TO GO! dance to the audience. She then turns to the VIP section, who are not visible to the audience, and shouts that it is weird that they (the VIP section) think they are “way too cool to do this” (take part in the dancing). Roan then screams “you’re not fun!”
The original video has racked up 1.7 million likes (and counting) in just 4 days. TikTok creators are now using this sound to share their own experiences, writing about something that they find fun that many others do not. The trend is to film yourself lip-syncing to the audio, with the detailed text laid over the top.
How you can use it: Share something about your business that will make the audiences’ lives easier, or something you think they might find fun. This could be ‘clients who don’t want to have meetings in cute cafes with sweet treats and iced matcha lattes with Olivia Rodrigo playing over the speakers’ or ‘people who don’t think that drinking out of handmade pottery makes a day 10x better.’ There’s a way to interpret this trend for most businesses, so jump on it while it’s hot!
