Pamela (@pamix) lives in northern Italy with her husband and two daughters. She recently left behind her career to pursue her passions of travel, literature, visiting art exhibits, and photography. She discovered her passion for photography a year ago, around the same time she became a PicsArtist. Fusing her travels with her newfound hobby resulted in a beautiful gallery of her journeys that our community can enjoy.

One year ago, Pamela was searching for a mobile photo editor and ended up with a paradigm shift in the process. “I began to see details that I never noticed before, such as a particular lighting of the sky, or a part of the road that I passed every day but had never stopped to observe,” she says. “Something simple such as oranges turned into a work of art.”

Pamela is now an active community member and loves PicsArt’s collaborative spirit. The #freetoedit collaborations have led to real friendships between Pamela and her followers. “I can’t explain the happiness I feel when I open my account and find my friends here. I now have so many friends from around the world. I can travel every day to a different place with this app,” shares Pamela.

Speaking of travel, she not only loves to tour the globe through PicsArt profiles, but also enjoys traveling with her family by car throughout Europe. “I respect the customs and traditions of the places I visit and leave a piece of my heart everywhere I go. Our family travels together and plans our own trips. Our most exciting trip was to Norway. We travelled without internet on our phones or GPS. We only had access to one map and it was in Norwegian. Whenever I saw the name of a place and tried to locate it on the map, I always failed. My saintly husband had endless patience.” The adventure resulted in some beautiful shots of Norway and great family memories.

Pamela not only captures the beauty of the country, but also revels in its culture. One of her favorite images from Norway trip is a photo of a figurehead recovered from the prow of a ship. “The photo represents how tied Norwegians are with the sea. In fact, they were the first to reach the American continent, ages before Columbus. Unfortunately, so little remains of the Vikings because their buildings and structures were made of wood,” shares Pamela.

As for Italy and Italians, she adores her people, her country, and her culture. “I love my country very much. I’m proud to be an Italian’s daughter. In Italy, we breathe art, not air. Italian people are so welcoming and I try always to welcome people that visit my gallery with a nice word and a smile.” She brings this Italian spirit to PicsArt with her love for art and her warm demeanor.

Pamela’s outlook on life is as beautiful as the images that she creates. “I try to live a thankful life because I have a wonderful family that supports and bears with me. I have found so many good friends here at PicsArt, some of whom I consider as my sisters. What more do I need to be happy? All the money in the world can’t make you as rich as you are when you have the love of family and friends.”
