Video models improvise. Hand one a paragraph and fifteen seconds come back carrying camera moves, cuts and events nobody asked for. All of it gets decided somewhere inside the generation, out of your reach.
The five Seedance workflow templates below take those decisions back. Each opens from a link as a live canvas, already wired. What follows is what is actually inside them, starting with the build that makes the method most obvious and ending with the one that begins from nothing but a page of text.
The storyboard is the workflow
Four of these five canvases spend their first half generating a picture nobody ever sees. It is a 3×2 grid holding six panels, and it exists to be read by the video model rather than by a person.
Once that grid arrives, the model stops inventing. It is no longer guessing where the camera sits or when the shot changes. It is animating a plan that already specifies six shots, their order and their framing.
The fifth canvas throws the grid away. It writes three separate stills instead and labels them as consecutive keyframes of one film. Both routes answer the same question: a fifteen-second clip contains several shots, and something has to decide what they are.
One detail repeats across three of these canvases. Feeding a storyboard to a video model invites it to animate the storyboard itself, panel borders and all. So those prompts forbid showing panels, grids, borders, thumbnails or frame labels, and insist on one full-screen scene at a time. The grid is an instruction, not a set.
Cyberpunk AI video: two photos, six panels, one chase
One person, one location, six panels, fifteen seconds.
Two photographs enter: a person, and an empty transit station. The chain treats them as the only identity references it may use. One is the exact person. The other is the exact location.
A storyboard prompt then renders six panels. Wardrobe, station layout, props and lighting stay fixed across all of them.
The video prompt is written in bracketed blocks, one each for camera, genre, sound design and effects. Then it walks the action beat by beat. A centered dolly-back opening. A handheld follow through the run. A finish where the digital clones collapse back into the real figure.
The move to steal: the clones are defined as duplicates of the same person. Identical face, coat and hairstyle, separated only by scan lines, chromatic aberration and translucent distortion. The prompt says “no new identities” outright. Drop that line and a glitch effect becomes an invitation to invent extra people, at which point the chase is about nobody in particular. AI ASMR video: one bowl, two aspect ratios
One photo in, a vertical cut and a widescreen cut out.
One photograph of a finished dish enters, and the canvas splits it in two. One branch runs vertical, the other widescreen. Each carries its own storyboard and its own finished cut.
Both storyboards ask for six sequential panels shot at true macro distance. Close enough that noodle strands, single droplets and ingredient surfaces fill the frame.
The video prompts then budget the clip rather than leaving pacing to chance. Roughly 2.2 seconds per panel for the first five. A longer final panel of about four seconds, so the sequence resolves instead of stopping.
The move to steal: the bowl’s rim is kept out of most panels, and hands appear only from the wrist down, only while placing something. The result reads as food assembling itself rather than a person cooking. That is the whole difference between a real macro ASMR clip and a recipe video shot from a comfortable distance. Anime storyboard video: four characters who stay themselves
Four uploaded faces, one scene, nobody drifts.
Casts are where consistency gets hard, and this build carries four people through a run of comic beats. Each one arrives as a separate uploaded reference rather than a description. The chain gets an actual face to hold onto instead of an adjective.
The storyboard prompt is written as labelled shots with a beat assigned per character. That step is what turns four unrelated uploads into a single scene.
The video prompt then converts the storyboard into cel animation. It names all four again and demands their exact identities, expressions, hairstyles, outfits and body proportions across a 15-second widescreen scene.
The move to steal: naming the cast twice is not redundancy. The storyboard establishes who they are. The video prompt stops them drifting once motion starts, which is exactly when a character loses a hairstyle or quietly changes jacket. The canvas is at humorous anime style culture shock video.
Cinematic keyframes without a storyboard
No grid at all. Three stills, written as beats of one film.
The exception in the set, and the most instructive one. No storyboard node exists anywhere on this canvas. The shot plan is written out as three standalone stills:
- A prompt generates the airship, stating that no humans are visible anywhere on it.
- A second prompt introduces the lead explorer from an uploaded photo, specifying the wardrobe down to the boots, gloves and goggles.
- A third generates the creature, stating that no humans and no airships appear.
- A final prompt describes the world, then repeats the identity lock and the whole wardrobe list word for word before generating the clip.
Each still is described not as a picture but as the second, third and fourth keyframe of the same film. Each is kept deliberately clean of the others’ subject.
The move to steal: numbering stills as keyframes of one film, rather than commissioning three nice images, is what lets them cut together. Repeating the wardrobe handles the rest. AI claymation explainer: a document becomes a lesson
No image goes in. A narrated stop-motion explainer comes out.
The only build here that starts with no picture at all, which makes it the clearest example of a workflow doing something no single prompt could:
- The source text enters as a plain text node.
- A style sheet defines the handcrafted plasticine look and polices the palette. It calls for high-key vibrant color and bars brown, beige, tan and grey from dominating any frame.
- A second node splits the source into a numbered script, one section per idea. Each section becomes its own clip.
- The clips generate in parallel with audio switched off, while the narration is produced separately as its own audio node.
- The segments assemble into one explainer of about a minute and twenty, with the voiceover running underneath.
The move to steal: generating silent and building the voice separately keeps the narration under your control. One clip can be regenerated without losing the read. The script can be rewritten without touching a frame of animation. What comes out is a teaching aid to build a lesson around, not a substitute for one. What Seedance is doing underneath
Read those five builds together and the model choice explains itself. Three capabilities carry all of them.
Multi-shot storyboarding. Seedance 2.0 treats a clip as a sequence of shots rather than one unbroken camera move. That is the only reason a six-panel grid means anything to it. A model rendering a single continuous take has nowhere to put six distinct shots.
Character consistency. This covers the identity language filling every one of these canvases. A cut between shots is exactly where a face drifts, so a build that plans six of them needs drift handled at the model level rather than by hoping.

Where to start rewriting
Every template above opens as a live canvas rather than a description of one. Supply what the first node asks for, fill any text nodes with real details, and run the chain end to end. Exporting the result usually needs signing in.
Start rewriting at the storyboard, because that is the thing the model is obeying. Change the six panels and the video follows.
After that, the obvious moves are all swaps. Put a different subject and setting into the chase build. Point the claymation script at another topic and keep the style sheet intact. Six panels with a clear beat each beats one paragraph describing everything at once, because the model animates a plan instead of guessing the coverage. Add a line forbidding panels, borders, grids, thumbnails and frame labels, and ask for one full-screen scene at a time. Storyboards get animated as storyboards otherwise. Faces, hairstyles, wardrobe, props and lighting all drift across cuts unless the prompt calls them out. Repeating that list in the video prompt is worth the duplication. Assigning rough seconds to each panel controls pacing far better than asking for a 15-second clip and hoping the rhythm lands. A character reference holds an identity that an adjective never will, which matters most once more than one person is in frame.
