To celebrate Earth Day, we held a Graphic Design Contest challenging artists to raise awareness for the health of our planet with custom posters. Users submitted 1,659 entries in total, asking the world to be more conscious of our threatened natural environment. This contest was really about sending a strong message, using graphic design to create a sense of urgency in a single image. All week long, our community voted for the best, and today we bring you the 10 winning posters.
Finishing in first place was lopamudra behera (@lopamudra), who topped the competition with a staggering 1,758 votes. Lopamudra took full advantage of the PicsArt editor to construct this poster, combining images, blurring the background, and adding clipart.
In second place with 1,496 votes was Dragana B. (@galianab), who created this surreal masterpiece. Dragana’s poster is an impressively constructed piece of symbolism, depicting a single tree in a sea of chopped down stumps, cradled by human hands. It’s a great message of dialogue, and looks like the poster for a new Pink Floyd album. Well done.
Finishing third is Beautifully Flawed (@daffylaye), a regular contest winner who managed to garner 1,341 votes for this week’s contest. Beautifully Flawed approached this contest from a world peace standpoint, which we applaud her for. After all, what destroys nature faster than senseless warfare?
The Jury’s Pick for the best poster not to make the top 10 this week was Camille Delahaye (@delacam) with this beautiful entry. These two friends coming together under a drawing of the planet is a wonderful portrait of solidarity.
This week, we wanted to send a loud message and draw people’s attention to the fact that our environment needs protection and conservation. Our users created great work, so check out the rest of the top 10 winning posters below to give each one its due. Thanks to everyone who participated for another great effort, and we’ll see you all for the next contest!
