Born and raised in France, Liphante (@iphonographie) lives the sweet life, selling chocolates in her daily job. At the center of her chocolate coated quotidian, however, is a passion and talent for art that is constantly stealing her away from the shop to capture some of the most compelling images on PicsArt.
Liphante is as gifted a photographer as she is an editor, with a knack for bringing a sense of magic and elevated presence into her images. Her photos pull you into the moment, bring you to unexpected places, and overflow with life and spirit. Her edits are imaginative and emotional, sweeping you into her self-created universe, often in the clouds.
“I grew up between art, music and nature” she says. “I have always watched and listened to the world that surrounds me… with curiosity.”
Having painted for several years, Liphante one day put her brushes down for lack of time and energy. Photography came naturally as a logical next step, but she did not take it lightly. She put in the hard work to research textures, lighting, and the many other aspects of the craft. ”I still have everything to learn!”
Nature is one of her chief sources of inspiration, and she says it gives her all the poetry and oxygen she needs to create. “I find myself running after thunderstorms, stopping in front of trees or the calm waters of a lake.” She says that the morning light is her favorite, “-gentler, like an alarm clock.”
One of her favorite subjects is her daughter, the frequent beaming star of her photos. “she likes to follow me and [her] patience and joy of living make these moments magical].”
As much as she loves shooting, however, Liphante also gets a lot of her artistic fuel from the PicsArt app. “It is a lively place where I meet the world, emotions, colors… The application is complete and very artistic”. Some of her favorite effects are Seafoam, B&W Movie, and the new Drama effect, which she says is superb. She also uses drawing tools to even out backgrounds and “remove elements of a photo that are not necessary.”
“If I had one wish, [it would be to] one day become a photographer!” We think Liphante already is, but we know what she means. She would like to pursue photography professionally, and we would not bet against her talent.
