Flux 3 Image, the new image model from Black Forest Labs, is now in Picsart AI Playground, with native 2K and 4K output and room for up to 10 reference images. Describe a scene or drop in reference images, and the model returns full-resolution images ready for ads, posters and brand assets. It also edits an image you already have while leaving the rest of the frame untouched.
Behind all of that is a model built for control. Its signature is layout control: the scene is composed element by element with bounding boxes, and every element renders inside its box.
What is Flux 3 Image?
Flux 3 Image is natively trained to understand image layout and composition. It is the image part of Flux 3, Black Forest Labs’ multimodal model family for video, audio, images and actions. It handles three jobs, and there is no mode to switch, because the inputs decide the job.
- A prompt on its own generates a new image from a description.
- A prompt plus one image edits that image, from a single detail to its whole style.
- A prompt plus 2 to 10 images restyles them or builds a new composition from all of them.
Its prompt following is strong, so one line can already produce a well-composed image. Its output is full resolution and ready for ads, posters and brand assets. Flux 3 Image joins the wider roster of Picsart AI models in AI Playground.
Lay out the image with bounding boxes
Layout control is the signature feature of Flux 3 Image. Whatever aspect ratio is chosen, the canvas works as a grid that runs from 0 to 1,000. Each element that matters gets its own box with a short description of what goes inside, and a single line ties the whole scene together. Flux 3 Image then renders every element inside its box.
The boxes are optional. A plain written prompt works just as well, because the model follows composition natively, and either way the result comes out in native 2K or 4K.
Edit several details at once, and lock the rest
Several targeted edits can happen at once, whether that means re-describing, replacing or moving an element, and everything left untouched stays exactly where it was. The edits hold together across one round after another, so an image can be refined step by step.
In one Black Forest Labs demo, a black and white surf photo gets two changes in a single pass. The black wetsuit becomes a bright red neoprene wetsuit with the same fit and highlights. The white surfboard turns bright red with the same shape and reflection. The cresting wave and the cloudy sky stay exactly as they were.
Pixel-perfect editing covers additions too. In another demo, two divers are added to a photo while the original around them is preserved.
Combine up to 10 references in one image
Flux 3 Image turns multiple references into one well-composed image. It accepts up to 10 of them, and each one gets a token in the order it was added, starting at ref_image_0. The prompt cites them all in one line describing what to make, and Flux 3 Image decides where each reference sits and how big before it renders the whole frame.
A streetwear demo stacks six references: a vest, a tee, a pair of jeans, a duffel bag, a beanie and sneakers. The prompt asks for a fashion streetwear portrait in Times Square with ref_image_0 through ref_image_5, and the six pieces come together in one well-composed image.
Native 2K and 4K, with text that reads
Flux 3 Image renders at full resolution, so small details such as textures, faces and colors are preserved. One demo of a soba shop comes out at 5456 x 3072 pixels, or 16.8 megapixels, all from the model.
Text gets the same care. Small lettering stays sharp at full resolution, which suits posters, magazine covers, editorial spreads and long infographic layouts.
Where to use Flux 3 Image in Picsart
Flux 3 Image is integrated directly into Picsart AI Playground, so images can be generated and refined without leaving the platform. Describe a scene or drop in reference images, and the model returns full-resolution output ready for ads, posters and brand assets.
The Playground works on the web and in the desktop app, and the model is also reachable through the Picsart CLI, MCP, REST API and SDK for anyone building it into their own projects. Generations run on the existing Picsart credit balance, with no third-party API keys or separate subscriptions to manage.
Who gets the most out of Flux 3 Image
Different creators will reach for Flux 3 Image for different reasons. Here is how its strengths line up with four kinds of everyday work.
Marketers and ad teams
Campaign visuals rarely survive the first review untouched. A jacket needs a new color, a prop needs swapping, a logo needs to shift. Flux 3 Image can handle several of those changes in a single request while the rest of the frame stays as it was, round after round, and the finished files come out ready for ads.
Designers
Posters, collages and editorial spreads live or die by placement. With box-based layout, the headline, the hero image and the supporting details each get their own spot on the canvas, so the design that was planned is the design that comes back.
Educators and explainer creators
Infographics pack a lot of information into one frame, and much of it is small text. Native 2K and 4K rendering keeps fine lettering sharp, which makes diagrams and visual summaries easier to read at full size.
Fashion and ecommerce brands
A styled series or a product lineup starts with the real items. Flux 3 Image blends up to 10 reference images into one frame while keeping products, characters and styles recognizable, so the jacket in the final picture still looks like the jacket on the rack.
