Ever heard of heterochromia iridum? Yeah, neither had we. But it’s a rare (and awesome) condition that gives people unique variations in their eye color. A few celebs like Mila Kunis, Demi Moore and Kate Bosworth have it. And we may be a little late in the game, but we just realized that it’s pretty darn beautiful.

Apparently Different Colored Eyes Day is a legit holiday, and since it’s tomorrow, let’s take a look at a few ways you can use PicsArt to edit your eye color. Grab your phone, snap a selfie and let’s get started!

1) Paint It On

The simplest way to color your eyes is to paint over them in Draw. Just be sure to switch to the Overlay blending mode to make it look more realistic. If you end up with an effect that’s a little too dramatic, just lower the opacity of the layer you’re working with.

The best part about this technique is that you have full control over your final image. Think of each iris as a tiny little canvas. Experiment with a range of different colors and patterns until you come up with one you love.

2) Magic Eyes

The Magic Eyes Clipart package is literally the coolest thing in the world. Just add the Clipart over your eyes, erase the edges, and you’re done! Be sure to experiment with blending modes for different effects.

3) Stardust

Same thing with the Stardust Clipart package. Are you as obsessed as we are?

You can also experiment with several Clipart images on a single eye to create patches of different colors (check out our Galaxy Eyes tutorial for step-by-step instructions).

4) Black and White

But it doesn’t stop there! Try doing the same thing on a black and white portrait to make the eyes really stand out.

5) Line Drawings

Last but not least, try it out on a simple line drawing like this one by @smolder_outlines. (Seriously though. Have you seen their gallery? It’s full of awesome #FreeToEdit drawings like this one for you to experiment with.)

And if you want to animate it like this, just tap on the GIF export icon when you’re done editing and select the frames you want to include. Flashing purple galaxy lips? Yes please.
