Today, I’m excited to announce that PicsArt crossed 100,000,000 monthly active users! With 850M+ images and 50M+ stickers edited with PicsArt every month, we’re quickly becoming one of the largest open-source collections of images in the world.

In other words, this is a pretty exciting day.

To celebrate, we’re launching the week-long PicsArt’s Fam of 100 Million Edit Challenge in the app. You can use our new stickers and #FreeToEdit images — created just for the occasion — to create your entry, so head over to the Challenges section of the app to check it out!

PicsArt may be the world’s best mobile photo editor, but we’d be nothing without you, PicsArt fam. So today, from the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank you for being a part of our community and for using PicsArt to create amazing art.

The inspiration for PicsArt came to me one day when I found my 10-year-old daughter crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she held up her laptop and told me she had shared one of her drawings online and received a bunch of rude comments. Her desire to share her art was met with such negative feedback that she was quickly discouraged.

So I decided I wanted to create a space for artists like her, where everybody could feel free to express their creativity. A place with excellent photo editing and drawing tools that anybody could use to make awesome pictures. I wanted it to be free, and I wanted it on mobile so anybody could access it, any time, any place.

And most importantly, I wanted it to be a positive space, where everyone could learn, create and share art, experiment and collaborate. That was in 2011, and that’s how PicsArt was born.

Since then, it’s been a whirlwind. We started out as an Android-only app, later expanding to iOS and Windows. When we noticed that people were organically using the #FreeToEdit hashtag to invite others to edit their photos, we understood that we had succeeded in making PicsArt a collaborative place. And we embraced it. We turned the hashtag into part of our product. And look what PicsArt has become — a thriving ecosystem of collaborative art, and a totally unique place to create.

So today, I’d like to thank all 100,000,000 of you for making PicsArt what it is today — a thriving, positive, artistic space. We are a community of artists, for artists, and we truly couldn’t have done it without you.

PicsArt photo editor, collage maker and sticker maker is all about you. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out! Remix free-to-edit pictures into awesome collages and memes. Download the app to get in on the action.
