The Gift of Creativity: A Note From Hovhannes Avoyan, CEO & Founder of PicsArt 

On behalf of the PicsArt team, our hearts go out to everyone around the world who has been impacted by COVID-19. We would also like to acknowledge and say “thank you” to the selfless efforts of doctors, nurses and people everywhere who are on the front lines of this battle every day. 

PicsArt was founded on the belief that anyone can be a creator and that visual stories–in whatever shape they take–have the potential to change the world. Before I became an engineer and entrepreneur, I wanted to be an artist. Life had different plans, but creating visual stories has remained a core part of who I am. I am not particularly good at it, but it helps me feel inspired and grounded at the same time. 

We could all use more inspiration and grounding these days. 

As a start-up, PicsArt doesn’t have the cash reserves that some big-tech companies have, but we do have the gift of creativity. In an effort to help our global communities cope with stress, boredom and even depression, here is what we’re committing (as always, this is in addition to many features and content already freely available):

  • PicsArt web tools free until June: New and upcoming creative tools on picsart.com can be used by anyone, including small businesses and non-profits most affected by COVID-19. 
  • PixelArt by PicsArt for free: Our color-by-numbers app can be a great and easy way to help cope with stress and will be free for at least three months.
  • Community support: We’re working with non-profit organizations in communities where we have offices to donate computers to students in need, help create PSAs and spread kindness. 

Keep creating and stay inspired, now more than ever.
