We are always on the lookout for a great challenge and editing opportunity. And our Master’s program, a community of some of our most active and talented creators, is consistently at the frontline of creative edits and fun challenges, including the Masters of the Year tournament.

What is the Masters of the Year Tournament?

Originally proposed by Master Contributor @youevil in 2021, the Masters of the Year tournament is a bracket-style competition where Masters compete to hold the Master of the Year title in Image Editing, Original Photography, Original Drawing, Original Replay, and Original Sticker.

In each round of the tournament, Masters vote for their favorite submissions, and those with the most votes progress onto the next round. We had so many great entries this year that it was difficult to narrow it down to only one image per category.

After several rounds of voting, we’re excited to announce the winners of this year’s Masters of the Year Tournament. Find out who won and join us in celebrating them below.

His best advice? “Giving depth to edits is important, as well as giving it a dirty feel to make it more realistic.”

Master of the Year, Original Photography: jcervay

An ever talented Master Storyteller, @jcervay’s account is full of both amazing photography and innovative surrealist edits. If you’re looking for a little inspiration of your own to get started, @jcervay recommends that you “find your own style. I’ve spent too many hours trying to emulate other’s work. While it does push me to improve, I wasn’t happy until I let myself edit how I liked. And always be prepared to get down on the ground to get better angles. Photography that captures the subject from an unexpected angle is much more interesting.”

Looking to improve your Picsart photography edits? @jcervay shares her favorite Picsart hack for editing photos. “I love the color replace tool, even to slightly change background colors to make a more cohesive color scheme.”

Master of the Year, Original Drawing: @annaradchenko1

Our Master Storyteller @annaradchenko1 takes her work to the beyond. She combines vibrant hues with fantasy-like imagery. Her best advice is, “for those who want to start drawing, I would advise you to first choose a convenient application program and then try to do the work. Start small and learn further by taking it step by step.”

Be sure to check out her profile to see her stunning drawings and surreal edits. It’s the perfect place to find the colorful and imaginative inspiration you’re looking for.

Master of the Year, Original Replay: @orient_arts

If you’re looking to add something extra to your edits, look no further than @orient_art’s replays! Replays are a great way to see the editing processes and steps creators take to make their pieces so impressive. You can also use them to apply a similar edit to any of your own photos. @orient_arts says when making your own edits to “be patient, use your imagination, and be creative.”

He always tries to give his “imagination free rein” and “experiment until happy with the result.” On Picsart, he shares that he loves using the brushes and the lens flare tools to elevate his sensational creations.

Master of the Year, Original Sticker: @universalsouls_art

Adding original stickers to your Picsart edits is a great way to elevate your creations and add something special to make your piece uniquely yours. And @universalsouls_art has some great tips when it comes to making your own stickers. Sometimes it’s as easy as just getting started!

According to @universalsouls_art, the best way to start making stickers is to “create them! Never overthink an art project – keep it simple. Artists make it look easy with a finished product but you don’t see all the scribbles and mistakes that lead there. Keep it fun, art should be easy, not stressful. Be willing to try new things and use tools to experiment.”

Her best editing trick? “Learn to use layers!” she says. “They only seem overwhelming. The layers in Draw tools are no different than a stack of drawing paper, except you get an undo button and the ability to rearrange without having to start over.”
